Salin provides Philippine language and dialect translation, speech tools, phrasebooks, saved items, Talk to Stranger, and an AI Translation Assistant.
2. Translation technology
Salin uses a neural translation engine and AI-assisted language processing. Some requests need a secure internet connection and may be handled by trusted online services.
3. Accuracy
Translations, pronunciation, language labels, and tips may contain mistakes or miss local context. Salin does not guarantee 100% accuracy. Confirm important wording with a qualified speaker or professional translator.
4. Important decisions
Do not rely on Salin alone for medical, legal, financial, immigration, safety-critical, or emergency decisions. Seek appropriate professional help when accuracy can affect someone’s rights, health, safety, or money.
5. Protect private information
Do not enter passwords, PINs, API keys, payment details, identification numbers, medical records, confidential documents, or another person’s private information.
6. Talk to Stranger
This optional feature connects you with an unknown user. Be respectful, protect your identity, and leave immediately if a conversation feels unsafe. Never arrange unsafe meetings or send money, credentials, intimate material, threats, or illegal content.
7. Conversation learning
Optional learning may create de-identified language candidates from repeated conversational use. A candidate is not treated as a trusted translation until it has been reviewed and approved.
8. Responsible use
Do not use Salin to harass, threaten, deceive, impersonate, exploit, discriminate, violate rights, spread malware, bypass security, or create unlawful or harmful material.
9. Your device and connection
You are responsible for your device, internet or mobile-data charges, permissions, and safe installation. Salin is currently available only for supported Android devices.
10. Availability
Features may pause because of maintenance, connectivity, device limitations, heavy use, provider limits, or events outside our control. Friendly fallbacks may be offered when a feature is temporarily unavailable.
11. Safety measures
Reasonable limits, content filtering, temporary restrictions, and other protections may be applied to keep Salin secure and available.
12. App changes
Supported languages, features, appearance, translation behaviour, and availability may change as Salin improves. An update may be needed to continue using certain features.
13. Ownership
Salin’s name, design, original app content, and software remain protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Language itself, user-owned content, and third-party materials remain with their respective owners.
14. Feedback
You may send suggestions and correction reports. Please share only information you have the right to provide and do not include sensitive personal details.
15. No warranties
Salin is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent allowed by law, we cannot promise uninterrupted service, compatibility with every phone, or that every result will meet a particular need.
16. Fair responsibility
To the extent allowed by law, the developer is not responsible for losses caused by relying on an incorrect translation, unsafe user conduct, service interruption, or use outside these terms.
17. Ending access
Access may be limited when necessary to protect users, the service, or the law. You may stop using Salin at any time by uninstalling it.
18. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the app grows. Important changes may be presented in the app or on this website.
19. Agreement
By downloading or using Salin, you acknowledge these terms and agree to use the app responsibly.
